How to build your wardrobe
- Less is more. Not because we have more clothes in the closet we will have all our needs covered when it comes to dressing. If the garments are not suitable and are also numerous, they will only create confusion.
- Order, your ally. It is important to have everything very well classified and placed in order to find it at a glance. If your closet is a hodgepodge of piled up garments, it is very likely that you will always end up wearing the same thing because you do not have to 'dive' into the depths of the shelves where your belongings are piled up.
- Only what you like and feel good about you. All those garments that make up your wardrobe have to sit like a glove and flatter your silhouette.
- Learn to let go. Impulsive purchases that in the end you have not found the opportunity to release or have worn once, clothes that you are fond of but are already worn, things that you have not worn for more than two years … all this does not have accommodated in a smart operating cabinet. Get rid of everything without regrets.
Where to begin?
- "Audit" your belongings. For this you will have to completely empty your closet and classify all the clothes.
- Make boxes. It will help you classify all the content. Start with two piles. The first round is easy: what suits me and what doesn't. The body and tastes change over the years, so eliminate what no longer convinces you.
- What to throw away. Anything that ends up in the box that doesn't suit you is what you have to get rid of. The only exception would be a garment of very good quality that can look good again with some arrangement. Do not put it back in the closet, because it can stay there forgotten. Put it in a bag and take it to a specialized establishment to see if the transformation of the garment is viable.
- What suits us well. From this box we will make a first sieve of what looks worn and old, and we will also get rid of it. If they are clothes that you use a lot and you have no substitute, write down on a list what you need to replace, but get rid of them anyway, without thinking twice.
- And the same with … Shoes, bags, handkerchiefs, accessories … Do not leave a single corner of your closet without sifting. In the end, the effort will be worth it …
