Ingredients:
3 oranges
2 pink grapefruits
150 g of natural skimmed yogurt
1 tablespoon of honey
2 sprigs of mint

A very refreshing alternative to the typical old-fashioned fruit salad is to make it only from citrus fruits, in this case an orange and grapefruit salad. What gives you an extra dose of vitamin C - a powerful antioxidant - and a good amount of fiber and properties that help us fight constipation and the accumulation of fat.

How to do it step by step

  1. Wash and peel . On the one hand, wash the mint and dry it. And on the other, wash 1 of the oranges, dry it and grate half of the skin. Then, remove the skin from all the oranges and the grapefruit as well, removing all the white part.
  2. Cut into wedges . Use a sharp knife and separate them by cutting next to the membrane that divides them to be able to remove it and remove the segments completely clean, without the skin that covers them. And collect the juice that is released.
  3. Assemble the cups . Divide the slices into 4 crystal glasses. Add the juice that the citrus fruits and the minced mint have released, and mix. Stir the yogurt with a teaspoon so that it acquires a creamier texture and distribute it in the glasses. Sprinkle the fruit with the zest of the orange peel and sprinkle it with a string of honey before serving.

Yogurt and citrus to burn fat

The calcium in yogurt is not only good for the health of our bones, but it also helps the body reduce the creation of new fat deposits and metabolize it better. Choose it skimmed, with the same calcium but less calories.

Oranges and grapefruits, like other citrus fruits, are a source of fiber and vitamin C, and they help lower insulin, something essential to burn fat since it is not possible when the insulin level is high.

Grapefruit is also very rich in flavonoids (especially in the pulp), which means that this fruit has the ability to protect and strengthen the arterial and venous walls and prevent, in part, the formation of fatty plaques in they. Therefore, it contributes to reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases, but also anemia and cataracts.
