We have known for a long time that Irina Shayk has a tattoo on her ankle. It is very small and discreet but every time it has put on some open shoes with a short dress or with a side opening we have been able to see it. We already had some information about him, which was a tribute to someone very special to her but it is that now it has been the model herself who has revealed the true meaning behind him.

The true meaning of Irina Shayk's tattoo

The model Irina Shayk has a dazzling beauty and like many other celebrities she has tattoos. Due to their profession, these cannot be too large or colorful, but she does not need that. And the only thing you want to have on your skin is the name of the most special person in your life. No, we are not talking about any of her exes, not even her daughter. We talk about her grandmother.

What Irina has tattooed is a name: Galina, in the Cyrillic alphabet, that is, in Russian, in her native language. Any girl who has had a special relationship with her grandmother will understand Irina. And it is that grandmothers can play a fundamental role in life. However, it seems that the model's grandmother was a little more special than the rest: she was a spy.

Galina Shaykhlislamova worked as an intelligence agent for the USSR during World War II when she was only 19 years old. One of her missions was to investigate the movements of the Nazi army during the war, undoubtedly a most dangerous task. Galina managed to survive all that and died at the age of 89, in 2013. Without a doubt, the tribute of her granddaughter is more than deserved, although it has not been the only one since her daughter's name, Lea, is inspired by hers.
