Yes, yes, this delicious bowl of spaghetti with shrimp and clams is low in calories - almost 300 less than a typical pasta dish with sauce and cheese - and therefore 100% guilt-free.

And it is that one of the most widespread myths that runs around is that pasta makes you fat, but it is not. It is a food rich in carbohydrates –which should be consumed daily–, and in the case of pasta, carbohydrates with very little fat.

So, where is the problem? In the quantity and, above all, in the sauce, it is almost always the culprit that many pasta dishes are a real caloric bomb.

For this reason, in our recipe we have put the right amount: 60 grams per person. We have opted for whole wheat spaghetti and al dente, which are more nutritious and satisfying. And we have accompanied them with prawns and clams, two foods rich in lean proteins, with almost no fat.

Result: a super nutritious and not heavy dish , suitable for when you are on a diet because you want to lose weight. And on top of it super easy to cook.

How to do it step by step

  1. The preambles. Let the clams soak in cold salted water for an hour or so. And in the meantime, defrost the prawns if they are frozen.
  2. Prepare the accompaniment. Peel and mince the garlic and sauté them quickly in a large frying pan together with the chilli, without turning brown. Add the clams and prawns, and sauté for about a minute. So, pour in the wine, and wait until the clams open, and the wine is reduced.
  3. Cook pasta. Meanwhile, boil the spaghetti in plenty of boiling salted water for the time indicated by the manufacturer until al dente.
  4. Assemble the platter. Drain the spaghetti and add to the skillet. Skip them a bit along with the side to give them flavor. And finally, sprinkle with the chopped chives and serve.
