You too will probably remember Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell from wedding to wedding and the song Love is all around must have come to mind . Yes, the film Four Weddings and a Funeral marked an entire generation and not just because it was shot in just six weeks, it actually became one of the highest grossing films in UK cinema history! And now, in the heat of fever for television adaptations, the 1994 movie - yes, this year marks 25 years since its premiere - will become a television series. And, friend, we are going to tell you everything we know about this project. Ready?

For starters, it is an original production from the streaming platform Hulu and will premiere on July 31 . Behind the project are Mindy Kaling (his series The Mindy Project also aired its last three seasons on Hulu) and Matt Warburton , one of the main screenwriters of The Simpsons.

While the original film starred Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, John Hannah and Kristin Scott Thomas, the series will see Nathalie Emmanuel ( Game of Thrones) , Brandon Mychal Smith ( You are the worst ), John Reynolds ( Stranger Things ) and Rebecca Rittenhouse ( The Handmaid's Tale ). And don't miss it because the project will make a nod to the original comedy and Andie MacDowell will appear in the series but will not reprise her role from the film.

The series will focus on the story of Maya (Nathalie Emmanuel), communication director of the political campaign of a candidate for the New York Senate. She receives the invitation to the wedding of her college classmate who currently lives in London and decides to leave her life behind to reconnect with her old friends and, of course, she will end up mired in her personal crises. After experiencing a bombshell at the very altar, the characters will live a year full of romances, breakups, political scandals and, of course, four weddings and a funeral.

If you want to know more, here is the first trailer of the series. What a thrill!
