Difficult, no … next thing!
Difficult, no … next thing!
I am Inés, Art Director of Clara Magazine, and I have spent 21 days trying to order my cabinets following the Marie Kondo method. Before starting with the challenge and with the excuse of having to do it, I let the cabinets (at home there are 4 of us) to get messy by themselves. A very easy task! If you want to know if I got my challenge or not, read on …
My dream companion: Marie Kondo
My dream companion: Marie Kondo
I managed to find time to research myself and read my dear Kondo. My goal was to order 3 cabinets: mine, that of my daughter Luisa and that of the little one, Tomás. At home there are 4 of us but, as incredible as it may seem, my oldest son Alberto's closet works by itself! He, at 22 years old, is the one who has his things more organized, he is my idol.

I started the challenge with the little boy's closet, a total chaos caused by me, because he didn't even open it …

Thomas's Closet, DMK (after Marie Kondo)
I followed all the rules of Marie Kondo and now it is a pleasure to open it, everything ordered, by colors, by themes, nothing is left over and everything is “wearable”. I have managed to get Tomás, my little boy, also to open his closet and get his clothes. I think he was scared before …

This is what your t-shirt drawer now looks like! At first glance you can see what shirts you have, what color you want to wear today and everything is neat.

My daughter Luisa's closet
But my real challenge and one of which I am most proud is to have tidied up Luisa's closet and room. We spent a whole day and threw away a lot of things accumulated by her in the last three years: folders, notes, gifts, clothes, clothes, clothes …
Reuse what we no longer use
Reuse what we no longer use
We also set aside everything that could be reused by other people. Although she gave up at 3 hours, I continued to finish. We have saved ourselves going to Ikea to another closet, she fits everything, she is happier and finds everything.
And my closet …
And my closet …
As always in a mommy, it has been the one I have left for last. I took advantage of the wardrobe change and put a lot of order. I've gotten rid of a lot of clothes because I have a theory that, at my age, going vintage doesn't work. Don't let them consider me vintage!
This is nice!

I consider that I have achieved the challenge 85% because I still have to order my shoes and underwear, but … who does not have something pending?
A few days ago I was listening - not watching - Telecinco, and I heard the news that Spanish women are the ones who exercise the least and that we have no excuses. At that moment, as fine as I am, I couldn't help but blurt out. Me, climbing a ladder hanging the curtains just taken out of the washing machine and without time for the gym: inexcusable.
As I have plenty of time, my boss proposed to me - in order not to fall into boredom or monotony - a small challenge that would help me on a day-to-day basis and with which I would be able to get a little time for myself. Of course, to use it at the gym or running, aghhh! Mens sana in corpore sana.
What was my challenge? Order according to the Marie Kondo method!
It has cost me to do it…. And I still have to fix my underwear drawer (which I'm not going to take a picture of) and my shoe closet (I'm a little Imelda, I admit it). But there's no way, I can't find time or I don't want to. There is always something better to do. And leave a part of me in disorder, deep down, I already like it.
Before starting and with the excuse of having to do it, I let the cabinets mess up on their own. A very easy task, of course …
Challenge within the challenge
Finding time to document myself and read my dear Kondo, who happened to be a companion of dreams. There it was, on my nightstand. And there it continues, but more and more buried under the pile of books that accompany me every night and that I can't finish.
Sort three cabinets out of four
At home there are four of us, but my oldest son's closet works by itself. He, at 22 years old and as incredible as it may seem, is the one who has his things more organized, he is my idol. I started with the little boy's closet, a total chaos caused by me (he doesn't even open it) because, as I was telling you, before the challenge I insisted on it getting disordered "by itself.
Challenge result: achieved!

Even if…
I believe that I have achieved the challenge 85%, because I still have to order my shoes and underwear, but … who does not have something pending? Right now I'm going to go for a run just as I promised myself if I could get my closets in order. Well!
