Do not apply the eyeshadow with your fingers or with the little sponges that are usually included in multi-tone palettes. Choose a soft brush with a rounded tip that allows you to blend them well and create the smoky effect you have been dreaming of for so long.

Makeup brushes are no longer for the exclusive use of professionals and they have taken our toiletry bags. But most of us still don't know how and what each one is used for. That is why we have developed a manual with the most basic ones. Of course there are more, of course. But these are the ones that you should know and have more at hand. Some of them have dual use, so they are very practical. Learning to brush on makeup will make the end result much more precise and natural.

Types of brushes and what they are used for

  • For the makeup base. The liquid foundation is applied with a long, flat brush with a rounded tip. You should start in the center of the face and then fade outwards. If you want to apply contouring techniques , we recommend a double brush that works for both the outside of the face and the more angular parts of the face.
  • For the eyes. You need three types of brushes: one for the eyebrows, fine and short, that allows you to fill in bald spots; another for the shadows, soft and rounded, ideal for blurring them and creating a smoky effect; and another for the eyeliner, short and beveled, which allows you to play with different finishes.
  • For the lips. Yes, it is also necessary, especially to apply dark tones. Start outlining the mouth and then fill in. Much more precise and durable than if you do it directly with the bar.
  • To apply powders. The blush is applied with a wide and beveled brush, with the hair very soft to blend better; the sun powder, with a flat, round brush, which is impregnated only with the necessary amount; and the loose powder, the final finish of all good makeup, with a long, round brush that allows it to reach all the corners of the face.
