A bridge between the outside and the inside
A bridge between the outside and the inside
As a setting, we have chosen a greenhouse because we love to build a bridge between what happens outside and what we live inside, between body and soul … And above all, because it is full of light and naturalness, like our magazine and like you. The essence of the decoration is based on a soft play of contrasts between the rotundity of the wooden table and the antique iron chairs of romantic inspiration. And all, seasoned with a vintage touch.
To dress the table
To dress the table
We have opted for a white Provencal-style bedspread, arranged in a triangular shape. This arrangement, together with the pattern of the quilt, breaks the rigidity and allows the table legs to be seen. Another option is to use a sheet, for example.
Embroidered lace napkins
Embroidered lace napkins
The napkins are old ones made of embroidered lace. As a napkin holder, we have opted for aged iron clothespins with plant motifs that nod to the greenhouse.
A mix without fanfare
A mix without fanfare
The crockery mixes white pieces with other glass of different shapes and sizes. This idea allows you to combine several dishes when you don't have enough pieces of the same set and, at the same time, it helps to break the monotony of the whole. As individual plates and between plates, we have used some cake paper lace. A simple, inexpensive and charming idea.
Connect with the past
Connect with the past
Both the cutlery and the glassware are antique pieces. The intention is to connect with the past and take advantage of grandmother's cutlery and glasses. As in the case of tableware, you can combine pieces from various sets. But so that the contrast does not squeak, try to make them in the same color range as the rest of the tableware.
Multiply the light
Multiply the light
To fill the table with magical sparkles, we have arranged bottles and glass elements on the table and auxiliary furniture that reflect light on its surface.
To mark the place of each diner
To mark the place of each diner
We have made another nod to the greenhouse and we have used some whiteboard markers like those used to put the names of the plants. You can make them yourself with some cardboard painted with chalkboard paint and pole sticks to hold them.
Simple but effective touches
Simple but effective touches
With a linen napkin tied to the bottle of water or wine, for example, you give more plasticity and collect the drops that spill when serving, thus preventing the tablecloth from getting wet or stained.
Always fresh bread
Always fresh bread
Bringing bread to the table can be a real hassle. The whole bar with a knife is synonymous with crumbs everywhere. And a bread basket with slices is synonymous with dry bread after a while. With this bundle that we have made with a linen napkin and a rustic cord, you can take the slices already cut to the table without them drying out too much, as the napkin fabric protects them from air and humidity.
Bring nature to your table
Bring nature to your table
To recreate this environment, you don't need to have a greenhouse. A wooden ladder, whose steps serve as shelves, will serve you to place plants and as a side table at the same time.
With a lot of aroma
With a lot of aroma
If you opt for aromatic plants, like this rosemary, you will not only fill the space with life, but also with aroma. And if you put them in old flower pots, you will accentuate their rusticity.

Another option is to fill the environment with fresh flowers. If you opt for wild flowers, they will give it a more rustic and natural air. Discover the best tricks to make the flowers last longer.
Mini greenhouses

Another idea is to cover some plants with glass bells, such as the sage and rosemary that we have covered ourselves. On the one hand, it refers you to that greenhouse idea. And on the other, it contributes to filling the environment with reflections.
A very Mediterranean menu
A very Mediterranean menu
Enhancing the Provencal accent of the entire environment, we have opted for a Mediterranean menu, consisting of chard tartlets with goat cheese, monkfish Provençal with bay leaf and aioli, and an assortment of cheeses with cherry compote.
Chard tartlets with goat cheese
Chard tartlets with goat cheese
Clean and cut 1 bunch of Swiss chard into julienne strips and fry them in olive oil with 2 chopped spring onions. Once cold, add 2 beaten eggs, 1 bottle of heavy cream (which you can substitute for soy), a pinch of curry and a handful of sliced almonds. Salt and pepper the mixture to taste and fill with it the tartlets that you will have prepared with shortcrust pastry in small individual molds. Bake for 20 min at a temperature of 170 degrees.
Monkfish Provençal with laurel and aioli
Monkfish Provençal with laurel and aioli
Buy a monkfish of approximately 1 kg and ask to remove the central spine. Sauté a bunch of sorrel in a little olive oil, along with 3 finely chopped garlic cloves. Put the two monkfish fillets one on top of the other, with the sorrel in the middle, season with salt and pepper and wrap it with 4 slices of bacon. Cover with bay leaves and tie with kitchen twine before baking (30 min at 180 degrees). Brown some potatoes, together with 2 halved garlic heads, in oil. And accompany everything with aioli.
Assortment of cheeses with cherry compote
Assortment of cheeses with cherry compote
Accompany an assortment of artisan cheeses with a cherry compote and whole wheat toast. To prepare the compote, you need 1/2 kg of cherries from which you have to remove the pit. Cook them over low heat in a saucepan, along with 250 g of fructose (it can also be brown or white sugar) and the juice of 1 lemon. After an hour of cooking, remove from heat. If you want a smooth texture, pass the compote through the mixer.

The essence of the decoration of the environment that we have created is based on a soft play of contrasts between the rotundity of the wooden table, painted in lavender and dressed in white tones, and the antique iron chairs of romantic inspiration. And all, seasoned with a vintage touch, because we like to look to the future without turning our backs on the past.
