When you have not put on a garment for a while and it has been stored in the closet or in a drawer, it is normal that the smell of fabric softener has evaporated and in its place there is an unpleasant "closed" aroma. You can always wash those clothes again, okay, but there may be times when you don't have time and others when you don't feel like doing it. But that will cease to be a problem with the easy trick that we are going to show you next.

The easy trick (that you can do yourself) to avoid a bad smell in your closet

You need very few things to transform that closed smell of your closets into a rich aroma that will accompany you all day when you put on your favorite clothes. Specifically, there are three things you need, and surely if you are looking you already have them at home: cotton, a cloth bag and an essential oil. With these three elements you can make your own aromatic sachets in less than five minutes and say goodbye to those weird smells that can be created when they are closed for a long time, for example, after the holidays or from one season to another.

  • Take a cloth bag, the kind in which jewelry usually comes when they are given to you. Better if it is a light fabric such as satin, cotton or tulle, so the aroma will come out more easily. If you don't have one, you can always sew some easily by sewing two rectangles of fabric together and adding a ribbon to close them.
  • Make balls with the cotton, you just have to round pieces of ordinary cotton, and put a few drops of an essential oil that you like. We bet on lavender or lemon, which leave a clean and fresh aroma.
  • Put the balls in the bag and close it. Take advantage of the cords to hang the bag from a hanger in your closet. It may be one where you already have clothes. If your wardrobe is small, a bag will suffice, but if it is larger or you have a lot of clothes inside, we recommend that you make a couple of scent bags.

This same trick can also be used to scent drawers or even your vacation suitcase. This will prevent clothing from getting bad odors, although in these cases you can also use a bar of soap in one of these sachets.
