And, friend, in trends everything is cyclical, everything comes back and what horrified you at one point (see the case of white shoes and sandals), then you may love it.
After seeing Ana de Armas, Jennifer Lopez and the Kardashian sisters with perfectly shaped lips, we all have the same question, how do they do it to make it look more natural than it was done in the 90s but at the same time lips appear thicker? Well, we are going to tell you, step by step, how to achieve it.
Tricks to get the perfect lip contour
- Focus on Cupid's bow . Before you start, apply highlighter (powder or cream) to make your lips look juicier, and then draw it in carefully. That the Cupid's bow is well defined will be decisive for the perfect lip contouring. Dulceida, for example, has recognized that for a few months it has been exaggerated more and draws outside the natural line of the lips to visually increase the thickness. As Gato, the makeup artist of Maybelline NY, says , if you draw in a peak, you will get lips with a lot of personality and if you round them they are more sensual.
- Choose a liner a shade or two darker than the natural color of your lips - in case you want to wear them nude, which is the favorite shade of the famous at the moment - to delineate just around the lips . If you want some other color, red or pink, follow the same formula, but you have to keep in mind that the darker the liner, the less natural the effect will be.
- Then, with a color exactly the same as your lip color –or the lipstick you are going to use later–, fill in the rest of the lip . We recommend that if you are not yet an expert in lip color, before experimenting with very powerful colors, you start with the nude, which in turn are the most fashionable today. Go slowly, patiently, and make sure your lips are well hydrated.
- The center, the most important . Pay special attention to the Cupid's bow when you start to do your makeup, as we have already mentioned, but also to the lower lip. It is not that we apply makeup outside the lip, no, only in some areas, such as Cupid's bow and in the center of the lower lip.
BONUS TRACK : If you want to finish the makeup of the lips with a note, we recommend that you finish the corners of the mouth and the lower part of the lips with some sun powder or contouring powder - you can also use a stick product - so that the center of the lips attracts more attention and, therefore, appears more plump.
