Calluses are easier to prevent than to treat. That is why it is good that two or three times a week at the end of your morning shower, you get rid of dead skin after the water has softened it. Rub it in gently with a pumice stone or a suitable file.

Remove polish and file nails

File in the same direction, until the length exceeds a few millimeters from your fingertips. Round the edges of the nail so that they do not dig in and form nails.

Wipe them with a cotton ball with nail polish remover. Apply the protective base and the first coat of enamel with 3 strokes (one in the center and one on each side). Let it dry for 5 minutes and apply the second coat and glitter.

If you are going to wear sandals or you are going to go to the beach or the pool, remember that the sun protection cream should reach all corners of your body, including the feet (above, below and between the toes). To keep it comfortable, use a dry texture protector that absorbs quickly so your foot won't slip on your shoe.

Avoid infections

If you are not at home, wear slippers or flip flops in the bathroom. Do not forget them when you use the showers in public places such as beaches or swimming pools. The health of your feet will thank you!

"Dress" them with love

When you turn 50 it is estimated that you will have walked as long as to have been around the world three times, so imagine how important it is to wear good shoes. The ideal shoes should be comfortable, with a sole that absorbs well the impact against the ground, that supports the foot well and that does not rub against you. Preferably, they should be made of leather, so that the foot breathes well, and with a heel that does not exceed 4-5 cm.

Before jumping out of bed, stretch your entire body, arms, legs and even the tips of your fingers. And, in addition, sit on the edge of the bed, give your feet a mini massage on the sole for a few minutes by pressing a tennis ball with your foot and moving it up and down. This will stimulate circulation.

To the shower!

Do not forget to lather them well, insisting between the fingers. After rinsing, dry them gently, emphasizing (pun intended) the space between your fingers. When they are dry, hydrate them with creams that incorporate principles such as urea or lactic acid.

But avoid hot water!

As well as very long baths because they dehydrate them more. If they are swollen, alternate cold and warm water.

Soften the skin and remove the cuticles

Soften the skin and remove the cuticles

Take advantage of the moment of the shower to "soften" the skin of your feet and remove the cuticles. You can also put your feet in warm water with mild soap or bath salts for at least 5 min. Take a foot out of the water, push back the cuticles with the orange stick, and trim if necessary. Repeat with the other foot.

Well trimmed nails

It is better than the cuts after the shower because they will be softer. Use a toenail clipper to do this, as the cut is cleaner. Do not keep them too short and give them a straight shape, to avoid that they can become incarnate.

About a quarter of the body's bones are located in the feet. And to protect them against fractures, they need good doses of calcium. You can strengthen them with foods rich in this mineral such as dairy or almonds but also with a green kale or watercress smoothie, a toast with sardines in oil, etc.

Ideas for taking more calcium.

Target: sandals

Target: sandals

The sandals are the best option boast beautiful feet so do not miss our low cost choice for this summer.

It happens to all of us, the good weather arrives and we are in a hurry to show off our legs, feet and cleavage. We already told you some time ago how to wear a nice neckline and we told you about the myths about the (so helpful) razor hair removal. And today it is the turn of the feet.

Loved and hated in equal parts, they are one of the areas of our body that we have the most neglected in winter and that we teach the most in summer. So that this contradiction does not take its toll on you, we have compiled in the gallery a series of 14 tricks so that showing off beautiful feet is not an impossible mission. And, how else are you going to wear your favorite sandals of the season?

In addition to these tips, you should not forget that your feet deserve basic care whatever the time of year.

To each problem, its solution

  • Dry and hard. It is especially noticeable in the heels (whiter and thicker due to the accumulation of dead cells). Hydrate them with foot cream (better at night, so that the cream does not activate sweating).
  • Excessive sweating and bad odor. It affects 1 in 4 people. To combat it, wash your feet daily and use an antiperspirant, it reduces the secretion of sweat and contains antiseptics that destroy the bacteria that break it down. Also put it inside your shoes.
  • With blisters. They are formed by friction and pressure with the hard surface of the shoes. To prevent them, first protect possible areas of friction with a dressing. If they have already formed, cover them with dressings (one daily) until they dry on their own. Don't pop them because they can get infected.
  • Mushrooms. If you have a tendency to suffer from them, wash your feet daily with an antiseptic soap and dry them very well, especially between the toes. To avoid contagion, do not share a towel and always wear bath sandals in public places. If the nails have been affected, a specific product must be used for at least 4 weeks.

Self-massage for swollen and tired feet

  • On top. Place your thumbs on the instep and the other fingers holding the base. Gently run your thumbs across the space between the finger bones up to the ankle.
  • On the floor. Place your thumbs under your toes and massage in a circular motion toward your heel. On the arch, apply more pressure with your thumbs to loosen up. Finish by stretching and massaging your fingers one by one.

Avoid fluid retention and increase the flexibility of your feet

Move them! Take advantage if you are on the beach and walk barefoot through the sand and the sea. This will also help soften the corns. If you are more of a pool, get on the edge, lie on your stomach and kick with your feet without taking them out of the water. Also try circling the air slowly for a minute and repeat in the opposite direction.
