The tie dye has become the most fashionable print of the season, there is no doubt. All the influencers have fallen for this print with a hippie and 90s character: from Laura Escanes and her famous tracksuit to Alexandra Pereira with the most beautiful multicolored sweatshirt of spring.
There are many who, in addition to wearing it with style, have been encouraged to customize different garments with this pattern and as surely you are also thinking of doing it, we are going to teach you how to make yourself a tie dye shirt step by step.
The influencer Marta Lozano has shared in her account this photo in which she is wearing one of the shirts she has customized. And if you swipe, you can see the steps he has taken to get it. Take note, we will tell you!
Tye die t-shirt: at home and step by step
- The first thing you have to do is collect the materials. You need: paint for fabrics, coarse salt, elastic bands or ropes and the garment in question that you want to customize. If you don't want to stain yourself, we also advise you to get some disposable gloves.
- Once you have everything ready, tie the garment with several rubber bands making a spiral.
- Next, pour the salt into a container and mix it with the paint. You will have to repeat this step with the paint of each color.
- Then, add the paint of each color in the different parts of the garment to your liking (don't forget to do it on the back as well).
- And finally, cut the rubber bands and put the garment to dry.
The tie dye of a lifetime: with bleach
If you don't have colored dyes at home, don't worry. There is a much easier way to get the tie dye print and that is to do it with bleach on denim garments.
The procedure to make faded jeans is very simple and there are several options to do it:
- You can choose to rinse them completely and leave them practically white (for which you will simply have to soak them in bleach).
- Make a gradient and only put the bleach on the bottom of the pants.
- Or get a tie dye effect. For this you will have to 'paint' with bleach the areas of the pants that you want to be lightened.
