Not all creams and cleansers are suitable for your skin, but luckily she always tells you what suits her and what doesn't. In addition, we have the help of three dermatologists who teach us to recognize their messages. Don't miss a single comma and decipher the language your skin speaks with. They will thank you with a radiant complexion.

Sudden acne

Without being a teenager, do you have an acne breakout with comedones or blackheads? “It can be triggered by occlusive creams (very dense). Choose fluid and cleansing textures in soap or foam ”, explains Dr. Elia Roó, coordinator of the Spanish Group of Aesthetic and Therapeutic Dermatology (GEDET).

Is your skin tight?

It is likely that the moisturizer you are using is very fluid and does not hydrate enough, or that you use a cleanser that is too detergent. Go for creamier creams and cleaners, which include plant extracts, such as soy proteins, which guarantee your comfort. Or cleanse your skin with micellar water or syndet soaps (no detergent).

The notes off

Your skin is asking for hydration and nutrition to regain light. The dermatologist Carmen Carranza, a member of the Spanish Association of Dermatology and Venereology, recommends using creams with emollient and moisturizing components, such as glycerin, sodium lactate or hyaluronic acid.

Have many glitters

In this case you are using a cosmetic with excess fat or that unbalances your natural sebum production. Opt for non-occlusive moisturizers (petroleum jelly, for example, is too greasy), for syndet soaps (without detergent), with a neutral pH, and for “oil-free” makeups (oil-free).

Sudden itching

If you first notice itching, a rash or peeling when you apply a new brand cream or cleanser, remove it immediately, it could be an allergy or cosmetic intolerance. Write down its ingredients to see which one may be causing it and use a soothing cream.

Getting up with irritated skin

When the feeling of irritation is most pronounced in the morning, it may be because your night cream is too "aggressive". Some ingredients such as retinoids or alpha hydroxy acids can be aggressive for some skin. Switch to a cream with softer, natural anti-aging actives (jojoba, lotus flower, rose water, seaweed extracts).

More wrinkles!

Fine lines don't appear overnight, but they may suddenly feel deeper. Your anti-aging treatment is probably not powerful enough. If your skin is not sensitive, use cosmetic products with a higher concentration of antioxidant active ingredients.

Lack of comfort

When you finish removing your makeup, do you feel like your skin is tight or bothered? Try cleaning your face with micellar water. Being a product that does not need rinsing, it does not modify the natural pH of your skin, it does not irritate it and increases its natural hydration.

Irritation, redness, or peeling

Dr. Aurora Guerra, Head of Dermatology at the 12 de Octubre University Hospital, recommends using an ultra-gentle cleanser with soothing extracts when there is a tendency to irritation (rose water, jojoba oil …). Also, at the slightest redness or flaking, choose cosmetics formulated for sensitive skin: hypoallergenic, oil-free and preferably containing thermal water, as it is desensitizing.

Makeup that won't go away

If after doing your cleaning routine, you notice that traces of makeup remain, you are not using the correct cleanser. The textured ones in milk usually remove impurities in a single pass.
