If you fancy a pasta dish that is light but nutritious at the same time and extremely easy to cook, try these noodles with ham .

The secret? Do not go overboard with the amount of pasta, no more than 60 g per person, and make a tasty and low-fat side like this: garlic, arugula, parsley and diced ham.

A very balanced combination thanks to the combination of the carbohydrates in the pasta with the lean proteins in the ham and, therefore, ideal as a single dish.

How to prepare it step by step

  1. Cook the noodles . Do it in slightly salty water and the time necessary to leave them al dente according to the instructions on the package. Drain and season with a thread of oil and the lemon juice.
  2. Prepare the accompaniment . While the noodles are cooking, wash the parsley, pat dry and chop it. Peel the garlic and cut into thin slices. Cut the slice of ham into cubes. And wash the arugula and chop it very finely, reserving a few leaves to decorate.
  3. Skip the whole . Take a frying pan and heat 3 tablespoons of oil in it. Add the garlic slices and sauté them for a couple of minutes, until lightly browned. Add the ham cubes and the chopped arugula leaves and sauté for 2 more minutes. Add the chopped parsley, remove from the heat and stir well.
  4. Plate and serve . Add the accompaniment to the noodles, stir and serve immediately with the arugula leaves that you had reserved as a decoration.

How to get a perfect pasta

When cooking long pasta, to prevent it from sticking, you can add a drizzle of olive oil to the cooking water. And remember one of the maxims of pasta al dente: it is the sauce that awaits the pasta and not the other way around.

That is, prepare the accompaniment while the pasta is cooking or even a little before so that, when it is al dente, you just have to mix everything and serve.

Cooked ham, low-fat protein

Unlike other sausages, cooked ham is very lean, it hardly contains fat. But, at the same time, he is suspicious if it looks too uniform. It is a sign that it has been heavily processed and contains many additives and colorants.
