Sex in New York was a revolution for many women. For the first time there was talk of open sex on television and for the first time too, fashion took on a new role and its four main actresses became true style icons. Carrie, our dear Sarah Jessica Parker, was the most daring and wore mixtures that in any other would seem impossible.

Samantha Jones, played by the great Kim Cattrall, was not afraid of anything, not even mixing garish colors like these in the same look. And she knew how to get out of any tricky situation.

One of Samantha's most legendary looks was the leopard dress that she couldn't unbutton and that got stuck on her. This year, I would go for a pleated skirt as pretty as this one.

On more than one occasion, Samantha had to give someone a good cut who suggested they were not old enough to wear a certain garment. She would love to wear this jumpsuit to show that we can all wear whatever we want regardless of our age.

The Sex in New York series marked a before and after in television history. Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte became fashion icons and with them, the actresses who brought them to life. And it is that the costume director, Patricia Field, proved to have an infallible eye for fashion. If our beloved protagonists decided to give their visas a break and change Chanel for Zara, these would be the clothes they would go.
Low cost shopping with Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda
- Carrie . She was the most daring of all her friends. Her impossible outfits won thousands of fans all over the world. Today, we are sure that you would go crazy with the immense amount of cropped tops that are in our favorite stores. She would also do with a minidress, to make her legs appear longer, made of sequins in honor of her legendary Dolce & Gabbana panties.
- Samantha . She had no qualms about talking about her sex life or wearing multiple flashy colors mixed in one look. She did it with real mastery. Remember the leopard dress that got stuck on her last season ? Now she would change it for a skirt with the same pattern, which would surely give her less problems.
- Charlotte . She was the preppy of the group, the 'posh' and her looks were made up of straight skirts, cashmere sweaters and pearls. If today she went shopping at our favorite stores, she would surely do with an immaculate white shirt dress and another romantic one, like her, in pink chiffon.
- Miranda . The most stylish television working girl in memory. She wore jacket suits but also dresses fitted at the waist and practical but fashionable bags thanks to its architectural forms and quality materials.
