Can cleavage wrinkles be prevented?

Anonim

We have to surrender to the evidence: genetics have a lot to do with keeping the skin firm. "With the passage of time - Dr. Elisa Fernández, a gynecologist specialized in obstetrics, tells us - wrinkles appear more or less intensely in the décolleté area, depending on the quality of your skin."

But there are also external factors that can make the situation better or worse and that are worth taking into account.

  • Protect yourself well from the sun's rays. Prolonged exposure to UVA, UVB radiation, as well as infrared or blue light "causes skin damage such as spots and flaccidity, yes, because too much sun also affects it by destroying collagen fibers", explains the doctor. The best way to avoid this is to always use sunscreen when we intentionally expose ourselves to the sun. And, even if we are not on the beach or in the mountains, when we go out for a walk or, remember to spread the facial cream with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) also on the neck and décolleté.
  • Exposure to pollution. Pollution particles present in the air also harm the good health and appearance of our skin, suffocating it, "so it is important to use specific creams that help us oxygenate and tone it daily".
  • Posture at bedtime. Something so supposedly innocent has a lot to do with the appearance of wrinkles on the cleavage. And this is something that you can easily modify. Sleep as long as you can on your back. "When sleeping on your side, pressure is generated in the intermammary area, which causes those vertical wrinkles to appear that, sometimes, even leave very visible marks," warns the doctor. If you've been sleeping poorly lately due to anxiety, and can't control your posture, "try wearing a special nighttime bra, like NightBra," advises the gynecologist.
  • A good firming massage. As important as the cream, is the way to apply it. Do it with circular and upward movements on the breasts, and smoothing with the palms open towards the clavicles in the area of the neckline. You will activate the circulation of the area and you will achieve greater toning.
  • Posture, always upright. Keep your back straight (as if you wanted to gather your clavicles from behind) so that your chest does not sag, and strengthen your muscles with exercise. Apart from lifting weights, yoga, Pilates or swimming will help you correct your posture and keep the skin on your breasts and décolleté firm.
