How to remove semi-permanent manicure at home step by step

Anonim

As @lavecinarubia says , we all have a friend who had a semi-permanent manicure done before confinement and now has the drama of having to remove her nail polish herself. And if you don't have it, it is you.

For this reason, we have decided to collect the best tips and tricks for a manicurist so that you can remove your permanent or acrylic polish at home without damaging your nail. We have spoken with the nail art expert, Jimena Bernad, known as @malabernad on Instagram, and she has recommended us to follow the following guidelines:

  1. The first step is to collect the products you need to remove the paint: acetone, scissors / nail clippers, file, cotton, and silver foil.
  2. Once you have everything, trim your nails if necessary. In case of acrylic, cut the extension to keep the length of your natural nail. We must be careful not to get too close to the finger, as we can damage the hyponychium (the tissue that connects the nail and the finger).
  3. Then use a file to smooth down the semi-permanent paint or acrylic as much as possible to make the next step easier. Important: do not file your natural nail, only the top layer of product.
  4. Cut pieces of cotton and soak them well in pure acetone. Cover your fingers well with the cottons and wrap them with silver foil to let it act for about 15/20 minutes.
  5. Remove the wrapping finger by finger and remove the product by dragging with an orange stick or similar. It is essential that you do it one by one, because if you uncover them all at once, the acetone will dry out and it will be much more difficult to remove the paint. You can help yourself with a file if necessary (with great caution so as not to damage the nail)
  6. Once the process is finished, hydrate well with a good hand cream, insisting on nails and cuticles.

If later you want to try to do a manicure with a professional finish yourself, we advise you to wait a couple of days for the nail to rest.

You can try a simple design like the one in the photo: you just have to apply a layer of transparent polish, place the nail stickers to your liking once it is dry and repeat the process giving another layer of polish so that they are well fixed. For a result of 10, you can seal the manicure with a layer of gel-effect polish, to add a perfect long-lasting glossy finish to your manicure. We are at home, yes, but nobody said that we could not wear our nails to our liking, right?
