Honey caramel, the hair color in brunettes to recreate the 'beach effect'

When summer arrives we not only like the effect of the sun on our skin, but also on our hair. In the case of blondes, the sun is more evident, but for those with darker hair, those highlights that come out after tanning are more difficult to obtain. To create this effect comes the Honey Caramel, one of the favorite shades chosen by brunettes - we already know that the one for blondes is Buttercup blonde - and the color of the year for many hairdressers and color experts.

But what exactly is Honey Caramel? How is it different from balayage or other techniques? Luis Pérez, Wella Educator, explains it to us: “It is a trend based on softly warm and toasted colors, but not overloaded, it is based on the translucent effect of honey ”. So goodbye, Chocolate Cake… hello, Honey Caramel!

@JLo

Honey caramel is an unctuous and flattering color that brings more light to our hair . An effect that we like even more in summer and that, adds Luis: "is seen especially in long hair with medium cuts because the effect can be developed better". That is, in them it is easier to achieve that warm shine in the middle and ends and the volume effect is more evident.

It starts with a darker tone at the root and ends with a lighter effect at the end of the hair , but always following that translucent effect. Of course, taking into account the natural color to choose the right tone, Honey Caramel does not have the same effect on all manes.

There are many celebrities who have opted for this Honey Caramel and who can inspire us, all of them with midi or long hair. Some examples from across the pond? Jessica Biel, Jennifer López or the little Kardashian, Kylie Jenner , who debuted her hair a few weeks ago in full confinement. It is a color that they like, and that they choose, because it reminds of summer. Even Rosalía has been inspired by this color.

"As long as the colors mix warm and cold nuances they are great because they create natural warm colors", they defend from Wella, and hence their success. Because what succeeds in this color is not only that it lightens dark hair, but that its effect is completely organic and natural . As if we had spent several days in the sun and the hair had been lightened in the breeze. As if we had returned from a long vacation … Instead of having left the hairdresser, appetizing, right?
