Cleaning the oven is one of the housekeeping tasks that many people hardly ever do (I confess, I hate it). And it is that you do not want anything to get in there to scratch embedded grease, food remains … However, there are several tricks to clean the oven easily and that it does not become a real nightmare. The one we present below, for example, requires little effort and works while you sleep. I've tried it and it works.

Necessary material

To do this, you do not need any cleaning product that is harmful to health or the environment; all you need is baking soda and white vinegar (two of the most effective household cleaners), a non-scratch pad (normal or soft), a lint-free cloth or cloth, a spray bottle, a bowl, or a tupper, and gloves to protect your hands.

How to clean the oven step by step

  1. First of all, open the oven and remove the trays and racks and place them in the sink or a large bowl with water and dishwasher so that the embedded grease and dirt remains softened.
  2. Then, in the bowl or tupperware, add a little water and 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Stir well so the baking soda dissolves into a gritty paste. If you see that you have too much liquid, add more bicarbonate; and if it is thick, add more water. It is the homemade cleaning product that you are going to apply to the oven, the trays and the racks.
  3. While the trays and racks are softening, apply the baking soda paste that you have made all over the interior of the oven, so that everything is covered with this mixture.
  4. Drain the trays and racks, and apply the same paste to them as well. If necessary, make more pasta, as much as is necessary to cover everything: both the interior of the oven and the trays and racks.
  5. Without touching it, let it act for several hours. The ideal, for example, is to do it just before going to sleep and let it work throughout the night, while you sleep.
  6. After this time, remove the baking soda paste with the help of the slightly moistened and drained scouring pad, and you see it rinsing during the process. As you will see, the paste will have darkened, an unequivocal sign that it has absorbed grease and dirt overnight.
  7. To give it the final touch and make it very clean, spray a little white vinegar diluted in water on all surfaces and elements with the help of the sprayer. If a little foam comes out, don't be alarmed. It is the reaction of vinegar when it comes in contact with the remains of bicarbonate, but it is not toxic. And wipe it with a lint-free cloth or cloth to leave it totally clean and sparkling.

But remember that so that the oven is always impeccable inside and out, it is enough to give it a little review after each use. On the one hand, it will be much easier to remove the grease when the oven is still a bit hot and, on the other hand, this also prevents grease and dirt from accumulating.
