Increasingly, what we are pursuing when lightening hair is a finish that is as natural as possible . Gone are those unflattering tiger highlights and even the Californian highlights, so fashionable a few years ago, have given way to more subtle ones. But the melting color goes one step further and promises to perfectly blend our natural color with that of the highlights.
What is melting color and why is it going to unseat balayage highlights?
Balayage highlights are the hottest right now but they are getting competition. And it is that, if these already seemed to us that they achieved a gradient with a most natural effect, the melting color or color fade, it is more subtle. The transition between the color of the foundation and the highlights is much smoother, almost imperceptible. And the thing is that one of the keys to this fusion is that it is so gradual that the difference between some tones and others is hardly noticeable.
One of the great advantages of melting color is that it can be done in any hair color, the only thing that must be taken into account are the tones with which the base will blend best. For example, we have seen it in a cold blonde version (as in the image above) in which, if you look closely, the roots have an ash tone applied on a light brown base and little by little, very little by little, it goes away. lightening towards the area of the ends.
