At last! PortAventura World Resort is ready to open its doors on July 8, as a safe tourist destination. With the opening, the resort will start the 2020 season, which will also coincide with the start of the summer campaign. The resort has designed a leisure and vacation proposal that will allow you to enjoy its iconic attractions, a complete gastronomic offer and accommodation in its different themed hotels, all creating a unique experience in a safe environment.

In order to protect the health of clients, employees and collaborators as much as possible, PortAventura World Resort has taken all the safety, social distance and hygiene measures stipulated by the authorities and also certified by external auditors.

This year is marked by the coronavirus pandemic, which has impacted the global mobility of people in an unprecedented way, and has affected the tourism sector in particular. For this reason, PortAventura World Resort has invested even more in safety and is positioned as a perfect solution for local tourism.

Whether it is to take a day's visit , plan a long weekend or a full week of vacation , enjoying its emblematic theme parks, its themed hotels with swimming pools, the proximity to the beaches, Mediterranean cuisine and the practice of golf in a unique environment.

The goal is to ensure the best leisure and vacation experience, meeting all requirements. For the first phase of return to activity, the company has implemented a battery of extraordinary measures to guarantee the maximum possible safety of customers , employees and collaborators:

  • Temperature control at the entrance of parks and hotels.
  • Use of a mandatory mask throughout the resort.
  • New hygiene standards and disposition of disinfectant solutions throughout the resort, including continuous cleaning and disinfection at attractions and points of contact.
  • Capacity reduction to 30% of total capacity and start-up of new flows of people, avoiding large crowds and limiting direct contact as much as possible in order to establish a distance of one and a half meters between people.
  • To ensure limited capacity, a new ticketing system is created where the client must reserve the date of their visit in advance. Ticket sales will be available on the PortAventura World website, on its digital platforms (app, mobile and tablet) and through authorized agencies.
  • Placement of signage and informational elements to prevent risks and provide information to visitors.
  • Promotion of cashless / contactless payment to facilitate the customer experience without physical contact.

PortAventura World Resort will open with the “Safe Tourism Certified” tourism seal promoted by the Spanish Institute of Tourism Quality (ICTE). PortAventura Park and Ferrari Land, with their offer of attractions, restaurants and shops, will also start their activity on July 8 in summer from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., respectively .

At the same time, the PortAventura, Gold River, Mansión de Lucy and Colorado Creek hotels will open –including their respective pools–, ensuring that guests visiting the resort can enjoy their favorite theming.

The resort's show program has had to adapt to the new situation and will remain inactive until September . Similarly, Caribe Aquatic Park will remain closed.
