It was in February 2018 when Louis Ducruet took what may have been the most important step of his life: asking for the hand of his girlfriend, the great unknown Marie Chevallier. The couple met in the United States, where they studied, and they live together in Monaco, where they have lived most of their courtship, which has lasted more than five years. And precisely the Monegasque principality has been the enclave chosen by the couple for their wedding, which took place this weekend .
Louis and Marie have celebrated their marriage a la Grimaldi , with a double celebration, civil and religious, and surrounded by the splendor and glamor of the family of Albert II. It was last Friday when the couple were officially married in an intimate ceremony held at the Monaco City Hall , for the occasion the bride wore an original creation of culottes from the Spanish firm Rosa Clará.
Yesterday Saturday the religious ceremony took place and not anywhere, in the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas of Monaco , the same place where, 63 years ago, Prince Rainier married the beautiful Hollywood actress Grace Kelly. It is also where they are both buried, a place full of meaning for the Grimaldi family.
The emotion was very present during the religious wedding, the bride arrived with tears in her eyes and, after their union, happiness was more than evident on their faces. The wedding once again brought together the entire family of Prince Albert -except for Charlene , who we have not located in the family photo that has seen public light via social networks-, as already happened in the other great Monegasque wedding this summer, that of Carlota Casiraghi with Dimitri Rassam.
Louis Ducruet and Marie Chevallier begin a life as a married couple and they do so, for the moment, together with Pancake, their dog . Both have shared their wishes to become parents, so it would not be surprising that they soon dare to expand the family.
