Every end of the summer we face the same drama. And no, it's not going back to work after the holidays, that too, but having to go to the hairdresser to cut much more than the ends. The sun, chlorine and saltpeter destroy our ends, dry out our hair, leave us dull … so this year we prefer to prevent and thus not stop showing off our hair, even in September. And you, what are you going to do?

Tips to protect your hair at the beach and pool

  • Protective sprays. There are different spray options to protect hair from UVB and UVA radiation that damage hair and make it weak and brittle . Many of them are oil-based and the oils protect hair from heat and rays because they cover it with a transparent film.
  • Physical barriers. Staying under the umbrella is an option but if you want to take your physical barrier with you, nothing like a semi-turban or, better yet, a wide-brimmed hat. They are very glamorous.
  • Take it collected. Wearing your hair in a braid or a high bun is the best option so that your hair does not get tangled, especially if you have long hair. Do not hesitate and bathe with your hair like this, then you can release it to comb it and let it air dry. To pick it up, use a telephone cord elastic band, which are better removed and do not split the hair. Of course, always do it unrolling it, not pulling.
  • Wash well. You can use any shampoo but if you spend a lot of time in the pool, we recommend that you bet on a specific product that removes chlorine from the hair. In the same way that if you spend a lot of time in the sun, you should use a repair shampoo for these cases.
